And here it is – a great area for the whole community to use for sport, leisure and cultural activities. This is made up of: an artificial turf surface covering a bit more than the size of a standard netball court, a cover to protect users from sun and rain, plus lighting to enable day or night use. This facility will be situated on the back third of the existing Matakana School courts. We expect this to become a real asset to the school and to the community, for use by locals and visitors alike. The cost of this kind of facility is approximately $350,000, which we plan to fund from Matakana School reserved savings, grants, and funds raised from sponsorship and sales of the Matakana Artisan Cookbook. Please help us create this great facility by submitting a recipe and buying a book or two when we publish. We welcome your feedback at firstname.lastname@example.org
Starting in June, we will be holding a ‘Name the Cookbook’ contest. We will be sending out more info closer to the time but start thinking up something creative! Be sure to check our Facebook page and Instagram for updates.
The Matakana School Board of Trustees and the Matakana Community Group have backed the recipe book project! Sales of the cookbook will go towards an ‘Outdoor Covered Learning and Play Area’, or court dome and artificial turf, to cover our netball courts. More details will follow about the timeline and team members towards the end of March.
We are in the beginning stages of bringing forward a new, hardcover cookbook idea for school fundraising. The cookbook is currently scheduled to be for sale in mid 2018. This is a SAMPLE cover made by our team. A full concept of the book will be released in April, so everyone can get a better idea of what standard we are aiming for. We would love your support, ideas and feedback.
